Aug 1st & 2nd

...were great days!

Yesterday was my white coat ceremony!!
They lined all +150 of us M1s up & presented us with a spiffy new white coat & we officially became Aggie Docs! This was so fun simply because my folks, lil sis, wonderful Aunt Patty & Emilie & my beautiful Ba were there to cheer me on! YAY! After lots of pics & hugs we went to Cheddars...Then half of the group left and I took my parents/ guy to the bookstore & back home. We did some hanging out, picked up my roommate Giulia & then hurried up the road to Chick-fil-a,Lowe's, & Target... After dropping off the goods, my parentals/my guy/ I went to eat yummy noodles at Pei Wei & then saw "The Ugly Truth" at the local cinema.

LOADS OF FUN, just hanging out :P I LOVED IT! and part of me wanted nothing more than to hang out with my guy & go to dinner/a movie with my folks on the weekend ...
...and yet, this is what I have to do, this (medical school) is what I have a passion for, so we will see how it goes

This morning, I got to sleep in this morning (yay! new curtains!). Then when I woke up I hugged my bears. My parents picked us up and we went to TC's for some delicious-o breakfast tacos! Then we wandered around HEB getting a few things for everybody (& even an Aggie bag!) Then sadly, they went home...too bad I couldn't keep them in my closet :( but I had a semi-productive afternoon of studying & this evening I will be going to a potluck & meeting up with my M2 buddy so yay :)

And now i am baking cookies :D can't get better than that! ...although a mini wheats smorgasbord might come close lol

p.s. Here are some pictures from my first week of school:

First Day of School

Here it goes all over again...yesterday was my first day of medical school!
It was tiring & exciting all at once. We will see what today holds. It's Tuesday!!

But what is most amazing about my new adventure into medical school is all of the love & support I've received from my family & friends! My dad drove all the way to CS to look after me & help me setup. My guy would have gladly walked home from CS while carrying me over his shoulder. My mom & lil sis were a mess with tears (as was I). Norma even put together the most thoughtful going-away gift for me. Super sweet! ...And while I will miss them all, I know that it's because of their love & support that I can do this!

On that note, a few fun links wouldn't hurt to keep me entertained in this maroon town...

Mary Lynn Rajskub's Kiss & Tell ...someday that's what I want

Happy Puppy ...hilarious leapings!

And from Norma's gift book of "14,000 things to be happy about", here are a few:

dachshunds
shivering helping to warm you
the sudden squeal of hidden pigs
balance beams
penicillin
big red barns

July Trey

Hello!
So July 1st was pretty hard, everything about the impending start of medical school and my departure from everyone i love dearly kinda caught up with me ...July 2nd was okay...and yesterday, July 3rd I was back to normal with good days... but I can tell that July is going to be the hardest month to get through when it comes to leaving my family & my guy behind.

But in other news, my guy was sweet enough to go all the way across town with me to Amy's Ice Cream!! It's this fabulously funky ice cream place local to only Austin, Houston & SA...I love the combos!! I had a small YOUR MOM! lol Mexican Vanilla & Belgian Chocolate with Reese's peanut butter cups and raspberries ooooooooo!

After gobbling down my ice cream & rushing through a photo booth together, we went to watch The Proposal for free! & It was soo cute, I loved it <3 pretty funny...btw we noticed while its set in Alaska, the filming was mainly done in Massachusetts lol

I have also become the proud owner of these lovelies!! I am so excited to get them in the mail allll the way from Canada

I have started reading Jane Austen's "Emma" with the hope of finishing it before medical school starts in 3/4 weeks... I am sure by December I will be so tired of reading that I won't want to read even a street sign ever again lol
And lastly, I dropped my camera just before the fireworks show & it won't let me turn the lens on :( very sad!
